John F. Kennedy once said, “As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
Today, as we reflect on all that we are thankful for, and celebrate with our loved ones, may we not only speak words of thankfulness, but may we live by them. I whole heartedly believe this is the key to Success, and true Happiness. Find something in another too praise throughout the year, be thankful for the little things in life, not just the huge surprises that God throws our way.
Our Team Celebrates Thanksgiving in many different ways, below we have listed what they are thankful for, and how they spend their day:
I will spend today with my “Born Family” there will be around 40 family members in attendance, being in Texas, we get away with large gatherings! After the traditional meal, my family and I will prep for the State Quarter Final Football Game that my youngest brother is playing in tomorrow, (Friday the 27th)! I am extremely thankful for Remi, Sterling, and Zack, without them and the role that each plays in Empire, we wouldn’t be where we are today. I am thankful for my family, who without a doubt are my greatest supporters in all that I do. I am thankful for friends, and the community I grew up in, Small Town America is truly the greatest. Last, but not least, I am thankful for the opportunities and experiences that God has blessed me with along the way!
This Thanksgiving, Sterling is thankful to be spending the day with her family, even though it may look a little different. As usual, on Thanksgiving, she starts the day off at the farm doing chores and spending time with her father getting stuff done around the farm and ends the day around the table with family and loved ones. Regardless of this year's situation, Sterling is beyond grateful for her family's health and being able to spend time with her loved ones. Sterling says, "The only thing that could make this Thanksgiving any better is having my Empire family here."
Remi says “I am thankful for my family, customers, friends and fur babies. I am celebrating Thanksgiving a little different this year because of the pandemic. I will be having dinner with my parents and my siblings and not the normal 30 plus people. We will be doing a family session with Becky Church, of Minnesota to capture all the mems then eating like NFL linemen. 😍”
This year, Zack is spending his with his mom and dad. He says they do things a little different than most, “we stray away from tradition, that’s our tradition!” This year he’s having a crab/shrimp boil, because why not!! He mentioned how blessed he was to have two healthy parents that he has the chance to sit across the table from this Thanksgiving and that he is able to celebrate it with someone. Zack will spend the rest of his break working on projects, photoing two family sessions *while socially distancing* and taking some downtime to truly let it sink in what our livestock industry has accomplished this year, through all the hurdles!! In the wise words of Kevin James, “Thanksgiving, man, not a good day to be my pants.”
Collectively we have all said how important it is to show our gratitude to each of you, to the exhibitors, the parents, the breeders, and the by-standers. The important role that each of you play in Empire is far more made up of each of you, than each of us! You guys keep us functioning, always striving for more, and most importantly you all keep us motivated!!
Happy Thanksgiving, friends, family, and any who happen to read this! We are THANKFUL for YOU!!!
